Basketball Recap: Mya Mcgowan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Poway over West Hills

Poway lost against West Hills back in December of 2015 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Poway Titans lost to the West Hills Wolf Pack on the road by a 66-52 margin. The Titans' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Poway lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mya McGowan, who posted 22 points. Another player making a difference was Emily Farr, who put up 14 points.

Jordan Dillon was her usual excellent self, going 6 of 10 from beyond the arc on her way to 29 points in addition to six steals and five boards for West Hills. Dillon's morning made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Kinser, who had 19 points.

Poway's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for West Hills, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Poway wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 48-35 loss against Aliso Niguel on the 3rd. As for West Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-42 defeat against Brea Olinda on the 4th.
