St. Pius X and Fredericktown are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2016, but likely not for long. The Lancers will face off against the Black Cats at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Lutheran South hit St. Pius X with a five-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. St. Pius X came up short against Lutheran South, falling 10-2.

St. Pius X saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abigail Rohe, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Fredericktown put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past North County 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Black Cats, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Ella Penwell, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Becca Mangold was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Fredericktown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .344 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Fredericktown's record now sits at 8-0. As for St. Pius X, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

St. Pius X might still be hurting after the 13-3 defeat they got from Fredericktown when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Lancers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
