Recap: Jurupa Valley Jaguars vs. San Bernardino Cardinals
The Jurupa Valley Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. The match between Jurupa Valley and San Bernardino wasn't particularly close, with Jurupa Valley falling 44-26. While losing is never fun, Jurupa Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1229th, while San Bernardino is ranked 547th).
San Bernardino's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laniah Porter, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Porter has scored at least 25% of San Bernardino's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emonnie Allen, who scored 12 points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Jurupa Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for San Bernardino, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.
Jurupa Valley will be home for the holidays to greet Upland at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for San Bernardino, they will head out on the road to face off against Santa Rosa Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
