Softball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Valor Christian's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Valor Christian never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the Arvada West Wildcats 11-0. Considering the Eagles have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Elizabeth Canales was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abigail Watson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Karis Flannery was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Valor Christian hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arvada West struck out seven times.

Valor Christian is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Arvada West, their loss dropped their record down to 14-8.

As of now, neither Valor Christian nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
