Basketball Recap: Ferndale Comes Up Short

Ferndale lost against Windber back in February of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Ferndale Yellow Jackets took a 57-39 bruising from the Windber Ramblers.

Despite the loss, Ferndale still got an impressive performance from Abby Barley, who went 6 of 12 en route to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maisen Sechrengost, who posted four points and seven boards.

Leading Windber to victory were Kaylie Gaye and Angel James. Gaye had 18 points along with eight steals and seven assists, while James dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 boards. Gaye has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Autumn Walz was another key player, putting up seven points along with seven rebounds and five steals.

Ferndale's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Windber, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Ferndale didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-39 defeat against Purchase Line on the 10th. As for Windber, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-36 loss against Berlin Brothersvalley on the 9th.
