Softball Recap: Wolfe City Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wolfe City can now relate to. They fell just short of the Tioga Bulldogs by a score of 8-7 on Saturday. The Wolves have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Lyric Sandlin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs, four RBI, and one stolen base while going 2-for-3. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Kyleigh Walker was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Wolfe City's defeat dropped their record down to 19-11. As for Tioga, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

While Wolfe City had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
