After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Veterans, Academy for Classical Education was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Dodge County Indians. The win continues a trend for the Gryphons in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won four in a row.
Giselle Giles spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.
At the plate, Sophie Denney and Avery Stone did most of the damage at the plate: Denney went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Stone got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Thames, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
The victory got Academy for Classical Education back to even at 1-1.
