Soccer Recap: Portales Takes a Loss

Portales was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bloomfield Bobcats. The matchup was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Portales couldn't quite close it out.

Portales' loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Bloomfield, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Portales will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on West Las Vegas at 4:00 p.m. on September 9. As for Bloomfield, they will square off against Hatch Valley on Thursday.
