Softball Recap: Woodward Academy Comes Up Short

Woodward Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the St. Pius X Catholic Golden Lions, falling 16-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the War Eagles of the 12-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Woodward Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eloise Nichols, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Woodward Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for St. Pius X Catholic, their win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1.

Looking ahead, Woodward Academy will take on Lovett at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Pius X Catholic, they will square off against Lithonia at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
