Football Recap: Manhattan Falls Short Against Ranked Junction City

Manhattan faced Junction City in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Indians received a blow as they fell 28-14 to the Bluejays. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bluejays apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Manhattan lost, don't look at EJ Massenburg. Despite the final result, he rushed for 65 yards and one TD.

Having lost for the first time this season, Manhattan fell to 3-1. As for Junction City, their record is now an identical 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Manhattan will venture away from home to take on Emporia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Indians 14, the Spartans 10.8) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Junction City, they will square off against Hays at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
