Football Recap: Grants Starts off Right with Win over Miyamura + How To Watch

Grants had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 36-14 margin over the Miyamura Patriots on Friday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.

Tristin Fernandez was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 72 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Julian Fernandez, who gained 49 total yards and two touchdowns.

Grants' run defense was locked in: Miyamura could only muster 0.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Gary Chavez for the heroic effort on defense: he. Grants' ground attack was stronger, having averaged 5.3.

Despite the loss, Miyamura still got an impressive performance from Benjamin Vidales, who picked up 110 receiving yards and one score.
