Football Game Preview: Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle vs. Murray Spartans

The Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle will face off against the Murray Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Juan Diego Catholic nor Murray posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Juan Diego Catholic's offense might be in the hot seat on Thursday considering what happened against Highland on Friday. They were beaten by the Rams 42-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Soaring Eagle were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Murray after they claimed the first score last Friday, but it was Highland who ended up claiming the real prize. The Spartans lost to the Rams at home by a 28-12 margin. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Murray didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Dax Jensen. Another thorn in Highland's side was Jacob Cushing, who picked up two sacks and made five total tackles (2.5 for loss).

Murray's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Juan Diego Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
