Softball Recap: Gretna's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

If Gretna was riding high fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Bennington on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dragons fell just short of the Blue Springs South Jaguars by a score of 7-5 on Friday. The loss was the Dragons' first of the season.

Maddie Kurrus was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Gretna fell to 6-1.

When Gretna and Blue Springs South next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Dragons will take on Broken Arrow and their three-game winning streak at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Gretna 2.4, the Tigers 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Blue Springs South will try to stop Broomfield's five-game winning streak when they meet at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
