Volleyball Recap: Coginchaug Regional Takes a Loss

Coginchaug Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Old Lyme Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on September 4th.

Coginchaug Regional started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-15, 25-14, 25-17.

Coginchaug Regional's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Old Lyme, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Looking ahead, Coginchaug Regional will take on Hale Ray at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Old Lyme, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against North Branford on the 27th.
