Football Recap: Cromwell Skates Past Verndale with Ease

Cromwell came tearing into Wednesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 56-28 victory over the Verndale Pirates. Considering the Cardinals have won six contests by more than 21 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Cromwell found their leader in sophomore Brenden Gronner, who threw for 241 yards and three TDs while completing 92.9% of his passes.

Cromwell's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Verndale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Cromwell nor Verndale have any future games scheduled.
