Preview: Conneaut Area Eagles vs. Oil City Oilers
Conneaut Area has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Oil City Oilers at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Oil City took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Conneaut Area, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Conneaut Area strolled past Franklin with points to spare, taking the game 43-26. The win was just what Conneaut Area needed coming off of a 63-33 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Oil City was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 42-37 to Franklin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Oil City in their matchups with Franklin: they've now lost nine in a row.
Conneaut Area is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Oil City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Everything went Conneaut Area's way against Oil City in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as Conneaut Area made off with a 60-38 win. Will Conneaut Area repeat their success, or does Oil City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
