Soccer Recap: Leigh Takes a Loss

After flying high against Gilroy last Thursday, Leigh came back down to earth. The Leigh Longhorns fell just short of the Pioneer Mustangs by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Longhorns came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Mustangs are ranked 86th).

Having lost for the first time this season, Leigh fell to 11-1-2. As for Pioneer, their record now sits at 11-2-3.

Leigh didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 4-2 win against Piedmont Hills on the 11th. As for Pioneer, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-1 victory against Branham on the 11th.
