The Lawndale Cardinals will head out to face off against the Leuzinger Olympians at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lawndale is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.7 points per game this season.
Lawndale will bounce into Friday's game after beating Culver City, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Lawndale slipped by Culver City 55-54 on Wednesday.

Lawndale's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Telayia Fuller, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. Fuller's evening made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalani Pearson, who posted 14 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.
Lawndale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 17 consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Leuzinger waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They walked away with a 46-35 win over the Vikings.
Leuzinger found their leader in sophomore Tatyana Aubry, who put up 25 points. Aubry is crushing it when it comes to points: she's scored at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Naijah Nelson was another key player, putting up six points.
Leuzinger pushed their record up to 11-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Lawndale, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Lawndale has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 37.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Leuzinger struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.9 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Lawndale was dealt a bruising 95-21 defeat at the hands of Leuzinger in their previous matchup back in December of 2019. Thankfully for Lawndale, D'Arrah Allen (who went 13 for 21 en route to 29 points and five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
