Football Game Preview: Halstead Dragons vs. Minneapolis Lions

The Halstead Dragons will face off against the Minneapolis Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Halstead is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 49 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Hillsboro on Friday. They took a 22-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. The Dragons have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite their defeat, Halstead saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Damien Whillock, who rushed for 60 yards on only seven carries, and also threw for 84 yards and one TD, was perhaps the best of all. Edric Zorn was another key player, gaining 89 total yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Minneapolis). They put the hurt on Norton with a sharp 28-7 win on Friday.

The victory got Minneapolis back to even at 2-2. As for Halstead, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
