Football Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Jeff Davis' Winning Streak

Jeff Davis dropped down to 7-2 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 26-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Worth County Rams. The Yellowjackets lost against the Rams in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 62-17 score last time.

Although Jeff Davis took the loss, they still got scores from J'Varis Bryant and RJ Simms.

As for Worth County, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.6 points on average this season.

Worth County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaden Chester out in front who rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 50 receiving yards. Chester has been hot, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last five times he's played. Treshaun Jones was another key rusher, rushing for 84 yards and one TD.

Looking ahead, Jeff Davis is taking a road trip to face off against Fitzgerald at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Purple Hurricane's defense has only allowed 11.1 points per game this season, so the Yellowjackets' offense will have their work cut out for them. Worth County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
