Volleyball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the West Cowboys. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cowboys this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-8, 25-12.

Christopher Brihm paced Independence's offense, picking up four kills. Brihm got some help from Jose Aguirre and his nine assists.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for West, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Independence will square off against rival Northland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, West is set to face off against their familiar foe Centennial at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
