Softball Recap: McIntosh Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact McIntosh can now relate to. They fell just short of the South Paulding Spartans by a score of 9-7 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Chiefs have suffered since October 9, 2024.

Abby Sheets made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracey Mustain, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

McIntosh has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-14 record this season. As for South Paulding, they moved to 13-12 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

While McIntosh had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
