Basketball Recap: Upper Darby Takes a Loss

Upper Darby lost against Conestoga back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Upper Darby Royals might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Conestoga Pioneers an easy 58-36 win. The Royals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Conestoga to victory were Janie Preston and Maggie Neary. Preston almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards, while Neary went 8 of 14 on her way to 19 points. Those 19 points gave Neary a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryann Jennings, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Upper Darby's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Conestoga, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Upper Darby will host Ridley at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Conestoga will take on Garnet Valley in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Conestoga's defense has only allowed 29.4 points per game this season, so Garnet Valley's offense will have their work cut out for them.
