Metter came tearing into Thursday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let Claxton get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. Considering Metter has won nine games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Metter's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Claxton, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

Looking ahead, Metter will head out on the road to take on Emanuel County Institute at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Claxton, they will take on Liberty County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
