Basketball Recap: Pleasant View Christian Takes a Loss

If Pleasant View Christian was riding high fresh off their 54-33 takedown of Horizon Christian last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pleasant View Christian Bulldogs came up short against the Medora Hornets on Thursday, falling 47-24. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Pleasant View Christian lost, don't look at Landon Wagler. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Wagler is becoming a predictor of Pleasant View Christian's success: when he posts at least eight boards the team is 8-2 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Medora to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kade Wright, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Wright a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Hudson Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

The defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 9-4. As for Medora, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Pleasant View Christian will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cannelton on February 11th. As for Medora, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-50 win against Brown County on the 4th.
