Basketball Recap: Making Waves Academy's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Thursday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against College Prep, Making Waves Academy was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They strolled past the Redwood Christian Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 37-22. Given the Marlins' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 510th, while the Eagles are ranked 1080th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Making Waves Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Redwood Christian, they dropped their record down to 6-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Holy Names the next time they take the court. Redwood Christian will head out to face Holy Names at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Making Waves Academy will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
