              A feisty cat fight will be fought when  the Lick-Wilmerding Tigers  challenge   the Burlingame Panthers at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday... Lick-Wilmerding has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the  game with three straight  losses, while Burlingame will come in with three straight  victories.
Lick-Wilmerding is headed into the  matchup out to prove that what happened against Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory  on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lick-Wilmerding lost  68-47 to Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory. The Tigers were down  56-30 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
 The losing side was boosted by   Avery Robins, who  dropped  a double-double on 17  points and 17  boards. She has become a key player for Lick-Wilmerding: the team is 2-1 when she posts  at  least  eight  rebounds, but 1-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of  Lauryn Lacap, who  went 5 of 9 on her way to 10 points and five  rebounds.
 Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Burlingame). They took their  contest  on Wednesday with ease, bagging  a  65-27 win over The Nueva School. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest  victory of the  season.
 Burlingame's win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 3-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Lick-Wilmerding, they now  have a losing record at 3-4.
 Everything came up roses for Lick-Wilmerding against Burlingame when the teams last played  back in December of 2023, as the  squad secured  a  51-22 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lick-Wilmerding since the  team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
