Van Meter came tearing into Friday's match with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Ballard Bombers with a sharp 8-1 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 contests by six runs or more this season.

Van Meter pushed their record up to 22-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Ballard, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-19.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Van Meter will face off against Prairie City-Monroe at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Ballard, they will take on Boone on Tuesday.
