Kennedy has gone a perfect 4-0 against Delano recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. Kennedy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
It was a Battle of the Birds when Kennedy faced off against Independence last Friday. The Thunderbirds enjoyed a cozy 21-6 win over the Falcons.

Jace Demacabalin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 257 yards and three scores. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.
Kennedy's run defense was locked in: Independence could only muster three yards per carry. While three picked up at least five total tackles, Jaythan Pascua stood above the rest. He made five total tackles (3.0 for loss). Kennedy didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.1.
Kennedy's defense didn't let Gunter Golla Iii, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Anthony Lara.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Delano over East Bakersfield in every quarter on their way to victory last Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Tigers blew the Blades out of the water with a 65-33 final score. The contest marked the Tigers' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Delano's win came from a few key players Kennedy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Raul Quezada, who picked up 216 receiving yards and three TDs. Those 216 receiving yards gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Romero, who rushed for 136 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries.
Kennedy's record is now 4-1. As for Delano, their record now sits at an identical 4-1.
Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Demacabalin and Romero. Demacabalin just won't slow down this season and has run in 9 touchdowns while averaging 131.6 rushing yards per game. Romero has been a dominant force too and has run in 5 touchdowns while averaging 67.2 rushing yards per game.
Everything came up roses for Kennedy against Delano when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 41-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunderbirds since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
