Softball Recap: Merritt Falls to Leedey in First Game of Season

Merritt unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 17-2 to the Leedey Bison on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Oilers have suffered since August 13, 2024.

Leedey pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Merritt has already played their next contest, a 5-2 victory against Fairview on the 14th. As for Leedey, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-2 win against Binger-Oney on the 12th.
