Basketball Recap: Taide Garcia Zepeda's Big Game Can't Quite Lead KIPP San Jose Collegiate over Pescadero

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact KIPP San Jose Collegiate can now relate to. They lost to the Pescadero Vikings on the road by a 39-25 margin on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 37-20 back in December of 2024.

KIPP San Jose Collegiate lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Taide Garcia Zepeda, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Aliyana Amezcua, who scored six points.

KIPP San Jose Collegiate now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Pescadero, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

KIPP San Jose Collegiate didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 35-31 defeat against Oakwood on the 21st. As for Pescadero, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 50-31 loss against Kehillah on the 18th.
