Soccer Recap: Lovington Takes a Loss

Lovington's game on Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Artesia Bulldogs. Lovington were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Artesia apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Lovington has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Artesia, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lovington is set to face off against their familiar foe Portales at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Artesia will square off against rival Goddard at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
