Softball Recap: Lanier County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Lanier County lost against Lee County back in August of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 5-4. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

EmLee Lowery was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, KK Trejo was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. Those hits were her first of the season.

Lanier County's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Lee County, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Lanier County will welcome Irwin County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lee County, they will venture away from home to square off against Houston County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
