Soccer Game Preview: Silverado vs. Burroughs

The Silverado Hawks will take on the Burroughs Burros in a holiday battle at at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Silverado's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Silverado is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Hesperia on Tuesday. Silverado took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hesperia.

Meanwhile, Burroughs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were one goals away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Barstow. While losing is never fun, the Burros can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 712th, while the Aztecs are ranked 314th).

Burroughs' defeat dropped their record down to 0-10-1. As for Silverado, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Silverado beat Burroughs by a goal when the teams last played on Saturday, winning 1-0. Does Silverado have another victory up their sleeve, or will Burroughs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
