Basketball Recap: Big Spring Bulldogs vs. Boiling Springs Bubblers
Big Spring lost against Boiling Springs back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Big Spring Bulldogs fell 44-31 to the Boiling Springs Bubblers. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while the Bubblers are ranked 108th).
Boiling Springs was led to victory by Molly Kimmel and Madyson Brownawell. Kimmel almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards, while Brownawell posted ten points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Brownawell has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 26 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Berrier, who earned four points and five assists.
This is the second loss in a row for Big Spring and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Boiling Springs, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2.
Big Spring will head out to square off against Spring Grove at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Big Spring is facing Spring Grove at the right time seeing as Spring Grove is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. Boiling Springs has already played their next contest, a 43-30 victory against Hershey on the 1st.
