Basketball Recap: Gabrielle Seibert's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Agnes Irwin over William Penn Charter

Agnes Irwin suffered their closest loss since December 21, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the William Penn Charter Quakers by a score of 55-52. The Owls were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Quakers earlier this season, when they won 47-40.

Several Owls players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gabrielle Seibert, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Perkins, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 13 points.

Even though they lost, Agnes Irwin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Agnes Irwin has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for William Penn Charter, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Agnes Irwin is taking a road trip to challenge Baldwin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for William Penn Charter, they will host Springside at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. William Penn Charter is facing Springside at the right time seeing as Springside is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
