Soccer Recap: Porterville Comes Up Short

Porterville managed to keep up with El Diamante until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Porterville Panthers lost 3-0 to the El Diamante Miners. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Porterville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5-3. As for El Diamante, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-8.

Porterville will face off against Mt. Whitney at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Porterville is facing Mt. Whitney at the right time seeing as Mt. Whitney is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for El Diamante, they will take on Redwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. El Diamante is on a six-game streak of home wins, Redwood a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the pitch.
