Baseball Recap: Effingham County Comes Up Short

Effingham County lost against Harlem on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Rebels took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Effingham County got a good showing from Luke Edwards, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Edwards has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Effingham County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Floyd, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Effingham County's loss dropped their record down to 23-5. As for Harlem, the win keeps they at an undefeated 25-0.

Effingham County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-8 victory against Brunswick on the 15th. As for Harlem, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Fox Creek on the 14th.
