Baseball Recap: Harrison Takes a Loss

Harrison extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 11-9. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McEachern Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 on Friday.

As for McEachern, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games.

For McEachern's part, Ezra Gandy tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over 4.2 innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Gandy a new career-high.

On the hitting side, McEachern's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chubb Jones Jr., who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Looking ahead, Harrison will take on Paulding County at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McEachern, they will head out to square off against Campbell at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans will aim to continue their five-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
