For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Legacy and Fossil Ridge meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Lightning walked away with a 24-14 victory over the SaberCats. This was payback for the Lightning, who suffered a 34-10 defeat the last time these two teams met.

A big part of Legacy's win came down to the chemistry between Andrew Gardner and his top target Peyton Studebaker. Gardner threw for 202 yards and one TD while Studebaker picked up 118 receiving yards and one touchdown. Studebaker really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 88 yards.

Fossil Ridge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eli Swanson, who picked up 108 receiving yards and one score. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Jantz, who threw for 238 yards and a pair of TDs.
