Recap: Independence 76ers vs. Piedmont Hills Pirates
The Independence 76ers fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Piedmont Hills Pirates on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 50-48. Independence has struggled against Piedmont Hills recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Independence still got an impressive performance from Ashjeet Kaur, who scored 22 points. Kaur scored a full 45.8% of Independence's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jodi Regondola, who scored 12 points.
Independence's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Piedmont Hills, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Independence will take on James Lick at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Piedmont Hills, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Los Altos at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th. Hopefully Los Altos focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Wednesday.
