Basketball Recap: Winters Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Winters won the last time they faced Paradise and things went their way on Friday too. The Winters Warriors strolled past the Paradise Bobcats with points to spare, taking the game 40-23. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 467th, while the Bobcats are ranked 1125th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Winters found their leader in sophomore Maci Dodic, who posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Tucker, who earned eight points.

The win made it two in a row for Winters and bumps their season record up to 13-5. As for Paradise, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with the loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winters has already played their next matchup (against Durham), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Paradise will welcome Pierce at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pierce will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Paradise surely won't give up without a fight.
