Basketball Recap: Norwin Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Upper St. Clair

Norwin lost to Upper St. Clair on January 3rd, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Norwin Knights came out on top against the Upper St. Clair Panthers by a score of 56-47. The win was all the more spectacular given the Knights' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Panthers are ranked 14th).

Norwin is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.2 points per game. As for Upper St. Clair, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-5.

Norwin will challenge Mt. Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Lebanon will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Norwin surely won't give up without a fight. As for Upper St. Clair, they will take on Connellsville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
