Newton had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Heritage on Monday. The Rams were the clear victors by a 15-6 margin over the Patriots. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Newton is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Heritage, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Newton will take on rival Archer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Heritage is set to challenge their familiar foe Rockdale County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
