In Monday's league test, the Newton Rams (Covington, GA) softball squad overwhelmed the visiting Heritage Patriots (Conyers, GA), by a tally of 15-6.

The Rams now sport a 9-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Archer for a 6A Region 4 outing on Tuesday, September 16. Newton will encounter a Tigers team coming off a 20-15 league win over Grayson (Loganville, GA). The Tigers record now stands at 13-1.

With the loss, Heritage moves to 3-11 on the season. The Patriots host Rockdale County (Conyers, GA) to encounter the Bulldogs in a 6A Region 4 outing on Tuesday, September 16. The Bulldogs come into the outing with a record of 6-11. Rockdale County won 16-4 in their recent non-league test against Salem (Conyers, GA)
