Softball Recap: Academy for Classical Education Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Academy for Classical Education waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Northeast Raiders get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Gryphons also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Avery Edalgo made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Brooke Norris and Kayleigh Kell did most of the damage at the plate: Norris went 1-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Kell went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was Norris' first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ava Allen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Academy for Classical Education always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Academy for Classical Education now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Northeast, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Academy for Classical Education will head out to challenge Vidalia at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Northeast, they will be playing at home against Dublin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
