Soccer Recap: Derby Comes Up Short

Derby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the South Cougars. That's two games in a row now that Derby have lost by just one goal.

Derby's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for South, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Derby is set to square off against their familiar foe Hutchinson on Thursday. Meanwhile, South will challenge rival Valley Center on Thursday.
