Softball Recap: East Carter Redbirds vs. Jefferson Blue Jays
East Carter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jefferson Blue Jays. The Redbirds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Jays apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
East Carter saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Calleigh Miller, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another was Macenziy Brewer, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
East Carter's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Jefferson, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
East Carter wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 17-0 defeat against Festus on the 27th. As for Jefferson, they are taking a road trip to challenge Hillsboro at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Jays' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
