Recap: Moon Area Tigers vs. Rochester Rams
The Moon Area Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 21 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Rochester with a sharp 60-39 victory on Thursday. Given Moon Area's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Rochester is ranked 267th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Moon Area's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayla Brown, who scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. Leiana Rucker was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Moon Area and bumps their season record up to 6-1. As for Rochester, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
Moon Area won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Aliquippa at 11:30 a.m. on December 29th. As for Rochester, they will be playing at home against Freedom Area at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
