Softball Recap: Waukee Takes a Loss

Waukee has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.82 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Ankeny Centennial Jaguars. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Warriors have suffered since June 11th.

Waukee dropped their record down to 10-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Ankeny Centennial, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Waukee will face off against Johnston at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warriors 3.8, the Dragons 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Ankeny Centennial will be paying especially close attention to Waukee's match: after Waukee faces off against Northwest, they'll take on Ankeny Centennial again on Tuesday.
